Everybody meet Stella Guerrera. I've decided to pick up skateboarding (no I'm not trying to be a hipster, I have a genuine curiosity and interest with the matter). Great timing though seeing as I start school again in 13 hours...





I bought my baby at So Hip It Hurts on Queen St West. I fell in love with the deck so I had to pick it. I broke her in real good on the first day, already got some scrapes on it... so mad, but it happens right?

After looking at my recommendations list of events on Last.fm, I realize that the list of Indie bands that will be playing this Fall in Toronto was EPIC.
Anyways, I thought I'd post up the list of Shows that I plan on attending or would like to.

Although I would love to attend all of these shows, there are a few conflicts. At the moment though, I think I'll probably see Foster the People on the 1st of October and Ra Ra Riots on the 6th. 

With that being said, I plan on reviewing all of these bands and the lives in the upcoming weeks so please look forward to it.

clarification.

To clarify about our name for this blog. Selvedge is of course a term that exists within the fashion vocabulary. But in our case, it was meant to be used as a pun and (or) a double entendre. What's the other meaning? Well the word sounds a lot like "salvage", so in other words you're saying "salvage life". Which I thought was pretty cool and all. Hence we decided to go with this name. Hope this clears up any confusion.

So yesterday I went around Kensington Market while I was waiting for my laundry's wash cycle to finish. During my round I stopped by Bungalow West and spotted some NBA jerseys and ran right to it. To my surprise they had a Ben Wallace Pistons jersey and a KG Timberwolves jersey. At $19.99 a piece I had just had to, as a fan of course. Now I need to get some nice shoes to go with 'em.

With earsplugged's first post, I thought it was time to showcase that we weren't your average Torontarian joe's. Or at least showcase our style and taste in clothing...and what we wore when we decided to commit to the blogging lifestyle.

Cardigan's may have not been such a great idea, seeing as how it was 20+ degrees outside but at least we weren't wearing popped collar golf shirts and shorts.

Anyways, this is but a small snip it of  what is to come in the near future. We plan to update and show off more of what we wear, buy and simply love. Hopefully we can add some vintage items, foreign styles and theme outfits when we get the chance but for now I think with the combination of both our wardrobes, we have plenty to show.
